about

This opening track to 'The Great War 1914~18 Centenary Suite' hopefully sets the scene and paints an idyllic picture of rural Edwardian England, between two worlds, immediately before the outbreak of the 'war to end all wars'. The title refers to the opening line of the Robert Browning poem 'Home Thoughts From Abroad' ... for me the first verse, which follows below, seems to capture that sentimental longing for England and the rural idyll ...

HOME THOUGHTS FROM ABROAD

Oh, to be in England
Now that April 's there,
And whoever wakes in England
Sees, some morning, unaware,
That the lowest boughs and the brushwood sheaf
Round the elm-tree bole are in tiny leaf,
While the chaffinch sings on the orchard bough
In England—now!

about

Lavallin Cambridge, UK

Hi all,
I play guitar and synths, doing a vocal or featuring guests ... making recordings just for the sheer enjoyment and fun that making music gives you.
My albums here are all imaginary journeys ... to the stars; around the world; through the seasons; back in time; even the soul's journey from this world to the next ... and back ...

Peace ... Graham:)
